Project type
Hiking
Date
17th Dec 2025
Start Location
Route Map, Photos and Description
I did this one solo. Anogyra is a nice traditional village, there are a couple of cafe's and a Taverna. The route started outside the Eastern side of the village. I parked on the side of the road, there was plenty of room. The area is made up of what I call miniture forest and some cultivated areas with vines. There were some farms and goats on the way round. The distant views of the sea and hills were pleasant. I came across a group of hounds running free blocking my path and barking at me, but I just walked straight at them and continued on my way. They didn't present a threat it was all noise.
The tracks were wide and a little uneven and rocky at times and there were some tarmac stretches. The hills were what I would call gradual rather than excessively steep. Overall the conditions were perfect, a bright sunny day but also quite cool. I got around in two hours and that included stopping for a chat with a local Cypriot guy and taking photos
