Route Map, Description & Photo's
Initially we thought it would be rained off. Luckily we took a chance and it turned out great. The walk started at a tiny little ruined village called Kato Archimandrita. There were only two houses standing and a church. The rest of the village was in ruins. The walk took us through a gorge following a river and through woodland initially. Along the way we disturbed a large common buzzard, it flew off with what looked like a large hare in its talons, the hare was so big it struggled to get off the ground with it. Later we were joined by a rather friendly hunting dog with a GPS tracker attached to his collar. He stayed with us for around 4KM before heading back to his owner. The walk was pretty easy except for a hill which was around 1.7KM long. Later in the winter it’s possible it might be quite wet as the route followed the river bed.
